Comments: In 1978, our Highland High School drama group was chosen to be entertainment ambassadors on the Pocatello Friendship Force trip to San Jose, Costa Rica. The Friendship Force was begun by President Carter as a way of "promoting peace in the world through 'the force of friendship'." As you can see in the newspaper article below, we performed a variety of song and dance numbers for high school students in San Jose. It was an amazing, wonderful experience.
